Tamer GaripThis film was written by remaining true to historical facts and after carrying out a thorough research and investigation that lasted just nine years throughout the Turkish, Greek and British secret documents in detail. However, I would like to emphasize that the story has been fictionalized to be appropriate to requirements of cinematography and inappropriate historical events were not included in the film.
Neither Turkish Cypriots nor Greek Cypriots will be able to spot anything in the film to which they can raise objection. On the contrary, they will learn about many new details that they have not been aware up to day and by virtue of this film, they will start a new way of communication to get closer to each other. The audience of this film will think that “Venus is Cyprus, and Cyprus is Venus” and feel the sorrows of people of Cyprus deep in their heart.
My objective is, using the character of Venus, to tell the contemporary history of Cyprus in an interesting way and introduce Cyprus to rest of the world through using an artistic language.

Burdening a mission and with the aim of searching for her lost parents, she returns back to Cyprus with Charles upon the establishment of EOKA, in 1955. Her mission is to infiltrate into EOKA and spot the place where the leader of EOKA, Grivas, is hidden. Despite that she is inexperienced, her past, skills and abilities, and her beauty help her to take this mission on.

Managing to make EOKA gunman Adamos fall in love with her, on the one hand tracks down her lost parents, on the other hand gets an important place in EOKA with the help of successful activities she conducts with Adamos. The Greek Cypriots’ support to EOKA causes troubles for British regime in Cyprus. The British regime unable to solve this problem, pits Turkish and Greek Cypriots against each other. Turkish Cypriots realizing that EOKA will attack on them after finishing with British, establish TMT in 1957.

The rigorous enforcements of British regime against Cypriots leads Jasmine to review her credence. Jasmine believes that EOKA is rightful in its freedom struggle and changes her side. Jasmine now is a double-faced Greek Cypriot agent. As Charles reminds Jasmine her father, Jasmine is unable to overcome her passion towards Charles and falls into a conflict between her mission and her feelings.

By 1963, her relations with Adamos turns into an unbearable turmoil. Preparations of Adamos, who deep in his heart believes that he is fighting for freedom, to massacre Turkish Cypriots makes Jasmine fall out of love with him. Events she experiences shake her soul and cause a deep sorrow in her soul. Jasmine, reaching to a severe turning point in her life, heals her soul by helping to people living in ghettos and works as a nurse voluntarily. This love, that happens in a time when she heals her soul, is the purest and the most unsparing one.

The military coup carried out by the fascist extremist followers of Greece turns the peaceful atmosphere into a storm and clashes start again. Following the coup, the Greek Cypriots turn their faces onto the leftist Greeks and Turkish Cypriots with the aim of destroying them, Turkey interferes and starts a military action against the extremist Greek Cypriots, and ensures the safety of both Turkish and Greek Cypriots.

Then, Jasmine, managing to cramming in three loves into the three important turning points of her life, lives up to another turning point in her life and this time prefers to be engaged with nature which heals her soul more than others. Jasmine prefers to seclude herself in nature in 1974. Her three lovers seek for her up to the present day but never manage to reach her. At the end, those three lovers who are now elderly, tells us the story of Jasmine in three different languages.
